Question about Sony STR-DE595 5-Channel Amplifier

1 Answer

Sony STR-DE595 Sound not balanced

The right front channel is barely audible. I have to turn the balance all the way to the right to get any significant sound out of the right front speaker. Even then, the left channel is still much louder. (btw - the speaker is NOT the problem. All connections are secure and I have checked with other speakers, as well as headphones and still have the same issue). This happens whether it is in Stereo mode or if there is a digital signal (DD, DTS). I also tried changing the speakers from connection A to B, but the problem persists. I have done both of the resets mentioned in the manual, with no change.

Preamplifier or power amp internally but check your signal cables for shorts or breaks,if amp then is internal and needs to be serviced

That, my friend, is in your balance system of the radio itself. Check it with other speakers you know are good. You'll see what I mean.

How do you balance sound between two speakers. Where is the balance control? JVC RX5000v

On the front panel ONLY:
1. Press ADJUST so that the MULTI
CURSOR up/down buttons work for
adjusting the sound.
2. Press MULTI CURSOR up/down
repeatedly until "BALANCE"
appears on the display.
3. Press MULTI CURSOR left/right to
adjust the balance.
• Pressing left decreases the right channel
output.
• Pressing right decreases the left channel
output.

Just installed new front (Pioneer TS G4643R) and rear (Kicker KS4100) speakers in my 1989 S-10. The left front and rear speakers work great but the right ones are not so good. At low volume they both have...

It sounds to me like your wiring is having problems. An easy way to tell would be to switch your speakers around. Take the ones on the left that you know work, and place them on the right side. If you have the same problem, then that tells you the wiring is having problems. Another problem could be that the speakers are wired out of phase. What that means is that the positive of the speaker is connected to the negative of the radio or amp, and that the negative is wired to the positive of the amp. Do you have an external amp? Try switching them around, and let me know how that works for you.

Sound on the speaker is very low voices are barely audible. have tried all eq settings but sound remains low please help

Look through your receiver's DSP sound settings. When you locate the volume control for the center channel, adjust it to be in balance with the music and sound FX. Often, I just forget about the DSP and run the sound in stereo with subwoofer. Helps to minimize the different audio mixes between different TV STATIONS AND DVDs.

check volume balance between right and left-then change inter connection between sound source and amplifier with new cabel(i prefer gold plated type connectors)(see radio shack).
after that if the problem excit your fault in output transistors or output stereo ic depend on circuit design.
