Hello, some window units do not have a drain hole for the condensate, instead the use the fan blade to sling the water on the condenser, since the condenser is warm/hot it will evaporate the condensate.

I have the same air conditioner and have call Haier customer support and they are also unable to tell me where the drain is. The manual says not to drill holes in the trap but I think that is the only option.

SOURCE: Portable haier air conditioner drainage.

If you are certain you can't find the drain hole, you can carefully drill a 1/4" drain hole in the drip pan, about 2' from the rear of the pan. Because water is involved, using a cordless drill is the best and safest way to do it. Turn the AC unit OFF and unplug it, before attempting to drill the hole. Be very careful when drilling the hole, as you want to just penetrate the drip pan's bottom and not go to far and damage the mechanicals above the drip pan. However, without the proper 1/4' to 1/2" tilt at the rear, the water will not flow to the drain hole as it should.

If it means putting a 1/2 block of wood in the window channel, under the unit, to raise it up enough, to be able to tilt it down at the rear. Do it.

Hope this helped you & thanks for using FixYa.

Leave it alone. DO NOT attempt to create a drain. As long as a window A/C unit is installed properly, (angled slightly down toward the rear) it will drain excess water over the rear lower lip of the unit should it get that high. Many models use some of the collected water/condensation. It gets lifted up by the fan blades to cool the coil.

SOURCE: Leaking Haier Commercial Cool air conditioner.

there are 3 drain holes in the primary pan right underneath the evaporator that need to be clean with a pipe cleaner or a wire of somekind and there is also a secondary drain behind it that will work only if the unit is 100% level. To access the primary drain pan you have to take all the screws of the back cover 5 on each side and 3 in the center above the electric cord and behind the air filter and only then will you be able to see these very small holes. Use a flashlight to make sure. Have fun!Reply

Why is water leaking on the floor from my haier air conditioner

Window A/C units will dehumidify the rooms as they operate. The unit has drainage at the rear. It is important when installing the unit to ensure that the unit slopes slightly OUTWARD to allow the water to drain to the rear. Otherwise the drain pan fills and the water pours into the room. If the unit IS tilted outward, then check the drainage holes for obstructions.

Where is the drainage hole on this unit?

Some don't have drain holes. You can make a hole by drilling the chassis. Some just have to be installed with a slight lean to the back so they drain properly.

I have a Haier Air Conditioner window unit that is leaking inside the house. What are some possible causes and solutions?

There are basically 2 causes:

1. The rear of the AC unit is not tilted down enough, so that water in the drip pan flows to the drain hole in the rear of the drip pan. The general rule of thumb for rear downward titl is 1/4" to 1/2".

2. The drain hole in the drip pan, near the rear of the unit is clogged. Locating the clogged hole can be a challenge, as the clog will blend in with the drain hole. Patience & persistence are needed in locating it. A pipe cleaner works well to clear the clog from the hole.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Haier Model# HWF05XCK-L 5000 BTU window air conditioner is leaking underneath and spitting water out of the top. It was installed as recommended.

The problem you're experiencing is generally caused by the rear of the unit not being tilted down enough. 1/4" to 1/2" is the general rule. This allows collected water in the drip pan, to run to the rear of the unit, where the drain hole is located. It would also be prudent, to check the drain hole under the drip pan, to see if it's clogged. It can be cleared with a pipe cleaner.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Our Haier window air conditioner gurgles-It sounds like a water feature in our living room. It will not drain and we do not see a drain plug on the case.

The drain hole (there is no plug) should be on the bottom of the drain pan, outside the house. It may be clogged or the outside part of the unit is not tilted down by 1/4", which allows it to drain properly.
Look carefully for the drain hole, as a clog may be concealing it.

Hope this helped you.

Haier Air Conditioners do not have a drain hole or hose like most A/Cs. This problem can easily be solved by carefully drililng about an 1/8 or 1/4 inch hole in the bottom outside edge directly on the metal frame, around the cooling fins.... This will elt the water drain out...if you when outside and looked in while it was spitting you would see the water pooling up in there. Haier expects us to mount these units at an ungodly angle to drain the water, but drilling a small hole will help (really anywhere in that bottom plate would work since the whole bottom is a "drain pan"
