If i have a smart tv, do I need a booster for an outdoor antenna, I am planning on a 20-30ft pole, for the antenna

The benefit and functionality of a smart tv is derived as much from a good internet connection as from decent signal strength from the antenna.

The ideal height, type and direction of the antenna depends entirely on the signal strength available where you are and the length and type of downlead cable.

If the signal strength is poor it is generally better to use a high gain wideband aerial designed for fringe reception than to use a lower gain and a booster.
It is worth noting a booster can usefully help increase the strength of a weak but good quality signal but there is little advantage boosting a signal that is both weak and poor quality so it is best to obtain the best signal possible before considering a booster.

A low specification downlead can reduce the signal and gather interference causing a bad signal/noise ratio. Using a booster at the end of such a downlead will boost the interference as well as the signal - the best place for a booster is as close to the aerial as possible and masthead types are produced to avoid those types of problem.

It is best practice to use the highest quality downlead cable - double wrapped air spaced low-loss 75 ohm coaxial cable.

Television weak signal how do I fix it?

There are a number of things you can do to improve the quality of the signal getting to your television.

Firstly review your aerial to make sure it is high enough and pointing in roughly the same direction as all the aerials for your neighbours or other buildings around.

If you are using an indoor aerial or portable you will need to move it round the vicinity until you get the best signal. This is mostly trial and error.

Once the aerial is in a good position you need to connect it to your television. The shorter the cable, the less signal loss, and the better the signal reaching your television. You can also use a better quality cable - think thicker with higher shielding - and this will also improve the strength of signal reaching your television.

If your problem is something different leave another message and I'll see what other help I can give.

I have a Huawei y301A1 smartphone the signal is not strong it keeps jumping from 3g to 2g how can I boost my signal strength

There is a small antenna that you can buy it tapes underneath your battery. It usually only gains you about one bar of strength . Most likely its the area you're in. try going to a different area and see if your strength increases if it does it is the area that you're in and there's not much else you can do about it . That is one of the cheaper phones out there.

Signal issues

If the antenna on the camera can be removed then there are long range antennas available that will increase the signal strength. You have to if the camera is transmitting on 2.4 ghz or 5.8 ghz before you look online for an antenna. just google 2.4 ghz antennas for a list.

I think you can try:
  1. Homemade Pringles antenna - Eat a packet of Pringles (ready salted would be my choice) then follow this tutorial to convert it into a functioning directional antenna. Point it where you need a signal boost.
  2. Airport Express & kitchen sieve - Take an Airport Express and set it into a common metallic kitchen sieve to boost it's signal further.
  3. Try a parabolic dish - Hawking make a 802.11 B/G parabolic dish that basically pulls in a WiFi signal, performs some magic and boosts your range by up to 300%! It only costs $80 and it has a cool retro style.
  4. Cantenna - This is basically a pro version of the Pringles tin hack. For $50 you can buy a Cantenna that plugs into your router and extends your WiFi signal. It also looks cool.
Also see this:
The Wi-Fire uses a powerful directional antenna, highly sensitive receiver and proprietary software to find and enhance normal WiFi signals. With it, you can connect wirelessly to the Internet-even at low signal strengths-faster, more reliably and with a more consistently strong connection-than you are able to with an internal wireless adapter.
The Wi-Fire draws very little power from your laptop battery. It comes complete with everything you need to connect wirelessly to the Internet. Just install the Wi-Fire Connection Manager, plug the Wi-Fire into an available USB port and you're ready to start. It can rest on any flat surface, laptop display or flat screen monitor.

There are only a few ways to increase signal strength ..move closer to the source (the router) , get a bigger antenna or boost the can boost the signal with foil in the shape of a parabola around the router antenna or make one out of a vegatable strainer that will plug into the laptop(this one works best )especially for picking up your neighbors WIFI

When I go into other rooms I can't connect to router

How is the signal strength? Check and make sure the antennas are not loose. Is your house the old style concrete? Sometimes thick block or concrete walls are tough for the wireless signal to get through. They do make larger antennas or signal boosters for wireless routers. You may need to install one of these to boost signal strength. Also is it wireless B,G,or N? Wireless B has a very weak signal while wireless N has a very strong signal. Sometimes the router settings can be changed to adjust the signal strength and may be set too low also.

Unfortunately the range on a G router is usually reliable to about 200 ft or so, depending on obstructions. There is no way to boost the 802.11g signal. You'd be looking at upgrading your router and card to 802.11n, which would give you increased range. .
