Question about Samsung RF266ABRS Bottom Freezer Refrigerator French Door

1 Answer

I have a Samsung Rf266ABRS French door refrigerator. I pulled open the freezer door and popped something off the ice maker that is a white soft rubber piece. It almost looks like a moth guard in shape. Since then the ice maker is having problems, it still makes ice and ice that has that half moon shape form but it just doesn't come out broken into individual pieces. This is the second time it has happened and last time they replace the entire ice maker. I need to fix it and it is not under warranty anymore. It is two years old.

Yay!!!!! I figured it out! The white spongey rubber piece rests inside of another plastic holster that is translucent white and the sensor (another white spongey triangular tube that hangs from the ice maker) rests inside of the first spongey white "mouthguard" looking thing. Feed the tube thruough the appropriate channels and then the whole kit and kaboodle connect to the bottom of the ice tray via the "u" shaped channel and is clipped on with a small eye that protrudes out the end. Then the tray suspends via the knob/fip gear on the one end and an oblong slot on the opposing end that connects to a corresponding knob toward the front of the freezer drawer. You'll have to remove the whole drawer to access everything. (two white clips along the track toward the back of the freezer allow the drawer to slide all the way out).

After that you're good to go!

Two screws at front (need 1/4 nut driver to remove them). Then pull towards yourself and it will pop right off. Then you'll see a wired connection. Done! If you're wanting to replace the ice maker here is part# DA97-07603B (write it down :-)

And you can purchase here at link below!

How do I remove the freezer door on a Samsung French door refrigerator

Answer: don't . Take all of the food out, then take the bin out of the bottom and work like that. Never take the doors off unless you have to. There are two white clips located on the rails you can push in if you really want to take the door out but it is a hassle sometimes. Push the clips in with a Phillips and slowly pull the interlocking rails out. Two Phillips screws hold in the ice maker in the front and you pull out the whole ice maker. You plug in the new one and make sure the slides in the back line up, screw the new one in and you're done. You can I just personally don't remove the door for this 5 minute job. Hold the button on the bottom to test cycle the ice maker. Checks ok. Then unplug and plug the fridge back in. This will clear potential future stored error codes.

You need to provide more detail, may be the ice itself is causing the problem?
If you have warranty, contact Service Center for free repair.
Or did you pull it too much? or something is coming in its way when closing removing everything and then try again.

How do I replace a broken ice full guide?

The ice maker is easy to remove once you get the drawer off the slides. There are two plastic clips located near the back of the drawer that attach it to the slides. Pop those out and lift the drawer out. Pull off the plastic ice maker cover to expose the mounting screws. Remove the two screws holding the assembly to the top of the freezer, then slide the ice maker forward about 1/2 inch. It will drop down a few inches, allowing you to unplug the wiring connector and remove it as a unit. The ice full guide is then easily removed.

LG French door refrigerator the door that releases the ice is not opening

Happened many times to me over the years there is a spade connecter that has become dis-connected from the vibration.Pull out bottom tray(mine),Unhindge the ice shute. The outer shell will then pop out with moderate effort.Unplug the wire harness to the display then remove about 4 screws and a cover will come off exposing the loose wire connection to the solinoid valve,I suggest crimping the female connector until it fits quite snug. Then re-install hardware.

Mine is model RF266ABRS, but both a white rubber piece (is this the waxy part??),and a semi-opaque plastic bracket became dislodged. The result is the same as others describe, the unit makes ice but in...

You can purchase this part as a replacement for your ice maker. it is a simple float switch that turns off the water when the tray is full.
If it is broken, the tray will either overfill or not fill enough.
There are many online spares shops, so find the assembly you require.
You can replace it as a DIY fix observing standard safety procedures.

Amana French Door Bottom Freezer

see if there is any ice caught within the ice maker itself preventing proper cycling of the ice maker. if not pop off the white cover to the ice maker(theres small **** in the cover on bottom right corner of white cover to insert a ***** driver and twist the cover will pop off. look into the center of the main plastic gear, there should be 2 "tabs" holding that gear in place . as if you were to push gear on and the tabs would keep it in place.( reason i mention that it is/was a problem with the ice makers hat the gear would break and it was very noticeable looking into the center gear).if not, theres a detailed trouble shooter for the ice maker behind the kickplate(maybe taped up under front corner under cabinet) it will tell you points to check for power and jump out if necessary
