Question about HP Photosmart C6380 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Hi I tried to download software for my hp photosmart c6830 but it has not resolved issues. Cannot scan and no toolbox to use from computer. Im not sure even if I ordered a CD if this will resolve issues.

When you download the driver don't get just the basic driver this will not allow the buttons on the device to work.  You must download full feature software.  This is usually a very large download and will take some time.

I am sick and tired of the problems i have with this PSC, but i have found a scanning solution and thought i would share it.

Use Microsoft Paint. It's not the best application in the world, but you can insert a scan from a scanner in the 'file' menu. :0) The scans are not of the best quality, but i'm grateful i can scan at all with this useless PSC.

scanning through bluetooth is not possible bluetooth module only pairs the computer and printer and has link only to the basic driver of the computer so you can only print from it
if you want to scan you should connect te usb cable or use a wireless upgrade kit

did you check the hp website? If so, call HP, they have some of the best tech support people around. You may have to pay a couple of bucks for the CD.

You may come across this issue when you try to install HP All-in-one product on a computer that previously had an HP Photosmart product installed. Hphmon06.exe occurs when hpzjrd01.dll,or hpzjfw01.dll,or hpzjsn01.dll, were not found.

Re-installation of the application may resolve the issue.

Perform the following steps to start the HP Software Update.
  • Click Start > Programs
  • Go to HP, click HP Software Update
  • Download the Update Version for your product.
For HP All-in-one products : Prevent incompatibility issues between HP Photosmart and HP All-in-One devices.

I am trying to scan a document on my HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-one but when I press START SCAN - it says NO SCAN OPTIONS


Hi phil4877 ,

Please try re-installing the Drivers and Software for the Printer in the Computer to fix the issue. Also install the Critical Update in the Computer to fix the issues with Scanning.

First, please download the Complete Software and Download package from the below link. After that, please double click on the downloaded file to begin the installation. After installation please restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect.

Once you have restarted the Computer, please download and install the Critical Update from the below link. Please save the file on the Desktop, double click on it to begin the installation. After that, restart the Computer again for the settings to take the effect.

I get an error message when I scan. It says Error


ISSUE: The error Waiting for PC is displayed on the control panel when scanning, using the Start Scanbutton on the control panel. The user will also notice a Not Setup on PC error when pressing theScan to … button. Note that scan from the PC works properly without an error. SOLUTION: The probable causes for this issue are listed below:
  • Firewall denying access to PC
  • Device polling not enabled
  • The scan to function is not enabled in the HP Toolbox
  • The destination has not been added to the Scan to button from HP toolbox
  • The HP Toolbox is losing the scan to destination
How to troubleshoot this issue:
  1. PC protection software such as firewall software may prohibit proper communication between HP AiO products and Toolbox and scanning software. Firewalls may need to be reconfigured to allow Toolbox to communicate with the AiO. The Toolbox software is similar to Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer in this way. Temporarily disabling firewall software may be helpful in determining if it needs to be reconfigured for Toolbox to operate properly. Please contact your third party firewall software vendor if assistance is needed to reconfigure the firewall. The following third party support Web sites may be useful:
  2. When Device Polling is turned off, the Alerts and the Scan to e-mail or folder options in the HP Toolbox are disabled, and the START SCAN function on the HP LaserJet AiO product control panel is also turned off. CLICK HERE for instructions on how to turn on Device polling.
  3. To program the device SCAN TO ... button, view the device settings. Open the HP Toolbox and click the Scan to tab. For more information, CLICK HERE to view the document titled HP Color LaserJet 2840 AiO Series Products - How to use "Scan To E-mail" or "Scan to Folder" from the Device
  4. The User loses the folder when choosing to save scanned files under the Scan to Folderoption of the Scan to Tab. The User also may lose the email settings under the Scan to Emailoption of the Scan to Tab. The User restarts the toolbox and it works for some time and the problem repeats again. Perform the following in the order listed to resolve this issue:
    1. Run the Fix Scan Utility and see if it resolves the problem. Click here for the Fix Scan Utility at http://www.hp.com If not, proceed to the next step.
    2. Check the firmware version and make sure that it is up to date. print a configuration page to see what the current firmware version is. By scanning the printer does only scan docs one by one instead 2 or 3 pages ( for ex. front and back of a page) , is this to be solved ?

What I understand from your message is that, when you try to print from the computer, you are receiving a message "No black ink supply"...


Solution: If you have installed the full featured AIO software on your computer, then open the HP solution Center on your computer, then click on the settings>> print settings>> Printer toolbox.

Then click on the Configuration Tab and uncheck the option "Display the ink level message". Then click on the Device tab and try to print a Diagnostic page and then click Ok to close the solution center. Then resart the computer and try printing..


I am pretty sure this will resolve the issue..

Try ths:
This happens mainly when you try to scan from the printer ;
Always try to scan from HP solution center but still here is the resolution:
Open Hp Solution center
Click on Settings
Click on scn settings
click on Scan to Setup
Select all the option available to updrade the Front panel menu list and click on ADD
Click on Update;
Restart the computer and the printer and try to scan.
It should resolve the issue.

Cannot See Estimated Ink Levels on Printer Toolbox
