Before you use the tool put a few drops of oil into the air line input. The pin may be sticking. You could try spraying WD40 into the area where the nail comes out also.
Sometimes dirt can build up in the region that the pin slides in and other moving parts and cause them to stick so you may have to dismantle the gun to clean it. Spray WD40 on all moving parts before re-assembly.

Senco nailer won't fire nails, but the firing pin dents the wood almost 1/4 inch.

Hi Jes,

Are the nails moving freely in the magazine if you pull the mag spring back? If so, then the driver blade is not returning to top dead centre - leaving enough of the blade to stop the next nail moving into the nose. This could be caused by a slight back pressure in the cylinder so, check the exhaust is clean and free of any swarf. Or check the O Ring on the driver blade, even though you've just replaced them....

My 601 won't shoot any spikes it just leaves a 1/4 '' indent were nail should be?

If you're getting an indent in the wood from the driver, the gun is working properly. If the gun isn't driving fasteners/nails it's because the nail isn't under the driver when it's activated. Several things could cause this: Having the wrong angle nails in your gun. There is something in the feed path of the nails preventing them from feeding fully into the nose piece. The feed shoe is jambed or feed shoe spring is broken.

The staples won't go fully into the Wood

1. The wood may be too hard for the staples to penetrate

2. The stapler drive spring may have ghotten weak

3. You may not be holding the stapler nose firmly against the wood while stapling

I have a porter cable roofing nailer model # RN175 that does not advance the nails everytime what causes this?

Some causes, in order of probability:
Roofing nailers get a lot of tar build up on them, especially around the nose safety and nail feed pawl area. Cleaning off this buildup will usually take care of most problems with roofing nailers.
On the side of the gun away from the side you load the nails on there is a small cylinder with a piston inside that attaches to the feeder pawl. If air isn't getting to the piston or the piston's o-ring or spring is damaged, it won't cycle properly to advance the nails.
If the driver doesn't retract fully, the next nail won't be able to advance properly for the next shot. This can be caused by o-rings in the head that are worn or out of their proper place.

FR350 won't shoot nails

Normally I would say you aren't using enough air pressure because somewhere around 80psi (every tool is different) will not be enough to fully retract the driver. At 110 you are fine so that is not the case. I doubt it is broken because a broken driver will still retract unless it broke near the piston. My guess is it needs the o-rings replaced but you can pull the top head and pull the driver out first to make sure. Parts and breakdowns can be found here as DeWalt owns Porter Cable.

Wont shoot nail every time pin wont return all the way up

Some reasons the driver/piston assembly won't retract fully:
- damage to the o-ring (LB1003) around the piston
- cylinder (BA0165) is scored badly
- driver (EA0167) is bent, twisted or warped
- o-ring (LB1023) around bottom of cylinder (in groves & covering small holes) is stretched out or out of place.
- Seal (BC0492) at bottom of cylinder & under bumper is damaged or gone

Worn trigger and or worn firing valve. Remove the trigger and look for wear on contact surfaces (worn pin that holds trigger, worn inner lever inside trigger, worn or loose firing pin in valve ). Easy test for worn trigger. Remove the nails, remove trigger, fire the gun against wood with finger to test for proper action. If it works better without trigger, consider replacing trigger with new (I would also order the oring repair kit that includes the firing valve )

Did you rebuild the tool? If not remove all the nails and unplug air, BUMP nose on piece of wood and does driver fall down? If so the pistion o ring needs to be replaced. Also if this is not the case look for a jammed nail in the magazine/nose area. Next check for a bent driver blade. All the above could cause your problem

Causes of piston not retracting are as follows. Cracked /worn bumper, if cracked air will leak between piston and bumper. Try test, remove nails and dry fire gun against rubber or soft wood; depress trigger push gun against wood/rubber and hold in this position. Piston should stay down and no air should leak past nose. Worn piston oring, piston should not slide down cylinder under its own weight. Loose or missing check seal, remove cylinder and look for black rubber band around series of holes. Band should be in place and fit snuggly. Good luck

I've had a similar problem and found a nail had broken and lodged itself in the nail housing causing the driver to get stuck forward.
