Question about HP LaserJet 4700 Printer

It gives me a bad duplexer connection error, im not sure where a duplexer is located

The duplexer on this machine is mounted right on the top where the paper exits. It should have a clear paper guide on it. When duplexing,the paper comes out here, and then reenters the machine.I would try reseating the duplexer as I have had them dislodged by users sometimes when they are removing jams.

On a Ricoh 2022 where is the serial line located connecting the SBCU and duplex unit? Moved copier across floor and get SC 650 error code. Something unplugged ?
Check both ends of every cable. Take them out and reseat each connection. This may remedy your issue. If not, you may have a bad cable. Often cables get bent a certain direction and the fine wires inside will break, and when you move them the breaks in the wire will become disconnection points and the cable fails.

Duplexer problem
There are several thing which may cause unexpected jams in the duplex tray...,
1. first thing to do is eliminate all other possibilities by removing the netCard/Net connection Parralel connection so the machine is Stand Alone. make sure there is paper in the feed cassette 2 ( paper Tray)
press the TICK to enter menu
scroll down to diagnostic- press TICK
scroll down to paper path test - press Tick
scroll down to Source and select tray 2
scroll down to Duplex And select YES
( if the duplex option is not visible here then there is a connection/seating problem with the duplex tray)
Scroll down to copies and select 10
scroll up to print test page and press tick
the machine should now start duplexing 10 pages,
if you get the same error ( 1 page enters then jams)
it could be a dirty/snapped paper entry sensor,( looks like a little plastic match stick that protrudes into the feed path of the paper)
use a can of pressurised air to Blast any dust away from this arm and the surrounding area being careful to follow the Paper sensor Arm back to the sensor and blasting this as well-
Duplexer tray are cheaper than an engineer call out, if the fix above fails , your cheapest option may be a replacement Duplexer tray, available from most HP office equipment Stores as well as Belmonte Business Equipment.

I have an hp 4300 with a 13.12.00 error when the duplexer is installed
Here is a copy of the 13.12 error troubleshooting steps from the service manual.

1. Press the HELP ( ) button for
detailed information about
clearing the jam.
2. Press the UP ARROW( )
button and the
DOWN ARROW ( ) button to
step through the instructions.
3. Check the paper width and
fuser delivery sensors
(PS106, PS108) and verify
that the sensor arms move
freely. (See "Location of
printer switches and sensors"
on page 336.)
4. Check the inside of the
duplexer for scraps of media
that might have torn off when
a jam was cleared.
5. Replace the media-size
sensor (PS106) and fuser.

6. Turn the power off. Remove
the duplexer and turn the
power on. If the error
message persists, replace
the DC controller PCA. See

My ricoh 2022 is giving me error code sc650 on my ricoh 2022 machine.
Communication timeout error between
SBCU and duplex unit
650 B
The SBCU cannot receive a response
within 1 second from the duplex unit.
• Serial line connecting SBCU and
duplex unit unstable
• External noise
• SBCU board and duplex main board
connection defective or loose

I have a HP Color Laserjet 3600DN. The initial problem was no duplex printing. It wasn't pulling the paper back down. I replaced the duplex transfer belt. No luck. I then replaced the duplex reverse...
I've worked on these printers for years and I never heard of a "duplex transfer belt".
Sounds like you broke a wire or missed plugging in a connector.
Probably a bad Duplex Feed Drive assembly or bad DC Controller.

Limited or No Connectivity Error Message

If you are still experiencing this error message even you may be experiencing one of several problems shown below:
1) Your Network or DSL router may have bad or missing information. Powercycle your router and/or rebuild the configuration in your router.
2) Double-check your cabling to the computer. Make sure you have the correct type of cabling, straight-through CAT 5 or possibly a crossover cable and try another cable or test the cable to make sure its working properly.
3) Check your network card to make sure its configured correctly and working properly. Many times setting the network card to 10Mbps/Full Duplex will solve this issue. To do this, open Control Panel, System, Device Manager. Go to the properties of the Network card, click on the Advanced tab and find the Link Speed and Duplex section. Change it from Auto Detect to 10Mbps/Full Duplex.
4) Check and test your firewall. Your firewall, especially if its a software firewall like ZoneAlarm, Black Ice, Norton Firewall or something else could be blocking the connection. Disable your firewall and test the connection. You may have to resolve the problem by even uninstalling and reinstalling the firewall.
5) Check your IP address assignments and workgroup settings in the computer for accuracy. Statically assign IPs to the computers in your network.
6) Reset your TCP/IP stack by downloading and running WinsockXPFix.exe a Visual Basic program designed to fix corrupted TCP/IP issues, host file problems and a variety of other connectivity issues.
