The plug is probably not connected to the power cable. Could also be a bad cable or the connection to the clipper.

If the clippers stopped cutting, they are probably clogged with hair on the inside of the clippers. I had two pairs of clippers where this happened. I took them to be serviced at a beauty supply store and they cleaned the hair from the inside of both pairs of clippers for me and they now work just fine.

it could be a bad connection, a bad switch or a bad heating element. It must be disassembled to determine what the problem is. You might look up your model on a parts site and see if they have a breakdown picture. If they do not and do not sell parts, you have your answer. They are considered throw aways.

sometimes the bottom plate can be cleaned. they make polish for that. Normally, it isn't replaceable. The iron will have to come apart to replace the wire. I would not use it until you do as the loose wire might contact the case and then what would you do. Light up?

When cords won't retract, it's usually because they were pulled out too far, ie: past the red line on the cord.
Retractable cords have a limit to how far they can be pulled out in order for the spring to be able to "rewind" them back.
On products with retractable cords, they have a red line near the base of the cord to warn you to stop.

This is not possible easily. You may have to make it with a piece of nylon. A lath mechanic can do it.

It sounds like you may have a possible direct short inside the iron. I would suggest either take it to an electric appliance repair shop or return it as being defective. If the problem still exists have your electrical outlet checked by a professional electrician.
