Hi Nancy, If it were one of the metal ones coated with Teflon I would advise something different. Since it is plastic you will need to soak it again overnight with some soapy water. Tomorrow get a toothpick and begin to pick at the bread gunk in the little gap between the post and the flat edge of the post where the bread gunk collects. Once you clear enough of that out a little wiggling side to side and especially up and down should free your paddle. Fortunately B&D's usually have enough of a gap where you can do what I describe. Some paddles fit so snugly there is no gap to work with. Whatever you do don't use anything metal to try and free your paddle, you could damage the teflon coating on your pan and you never want to do that. Let me know how it goes.....

CALL Black & Decker Customer Service at 1-800-231-9786 and they will replace the unit. They will ask for the model number CK1500R from the bottom of the base and the number on the prong of the plug, mine was 626XO. They will ask you to keep the old one until you receive a letter from them about what to do with the old kettle and the new one in a separate box. All free. Cool.

Chances are your drive belt is failing or if you have the kind of pan that is held in by the two metal spring clips and they are loose and allowing your pan to pop up free of the impeller.

Black and Decker machines go through a slow warmup before they start kneading. That is normal. It takes a few minutes. If your machine hasn't started kneading within 30 mins. then you DO have a problem with it.

If the leak isn't too bad in a pinch you can put all the dry ingredients except for the yeast and push start then start gently pouring in your liquid so that it is slowly absorbed once all the liquid is in add the yeast last. As long as your liquid doesn't puddle up that should work otherwise you'll need to get a new pan or a new machine. If you decide on a replacement machine let me know I have several for sale that are super nice. One is unused! thanks,

Could be a few things. Check to make sure the paddle is not sticking . It should turn freely by hand with the pan out of the machine. If it is sticking it could be the sealed bearing has failed. Check the tension on the belts. They could have loosened up and are slipping. Motor and belts are in the base of the machine.( Be sure to unplug machine when checking belts) Check to make sure the pan is properly inserted in the machine. Hank

Try using less yeast ( average loaf needs only 1 1/2 tsp yeast) and don't forget to add salt as that will also control the rising.
Or make a smaller size bread.
