yes, you should be able to connect to the console port using a roll-over cable RJ45-DB9, connect using hyper terminal or similar using the com port settings 9600,8,N,1
You can then configure the switch from the CLI...

Have you set the 'Login' command on the VTY lines in the switch setup and an IP address on the management VLAN to connect to.
You also HAVE to have a password enabled on the vty lines in order to connect via telnet.

hope this helps.

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

Please make sure you have only one supervisor module installed on your switch or else pull out the backup sup module and do this activity .

In the last step of reset it will ask to save the config.

do you wish to save this configuration? y/n [n]: y
You must reset or power cycle for new configuration to take effect

do not forget to type in y there.

Hi,

The case gives me hints towards the configuration register value which is not set to proper value, so the switch is not checking the the saved configuration in the config file.

Please do the below steps.
1. Log into the switch
2. Come to enable prompt
3. Typein the below commands
config t
config-register 0x2142
end
write memory

The find an example of the prompt and the commands below

Switch# config t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTRL/Z.
Switch(config)#config-register 0x2142
Switch(config)#end
Switch#write memory

After this you can configure your switch as per your requirement and then save the config by typing write memory

Now you can reboot your switch and the switch will come up with the configuration as you set.

Best Regards

HI,
The cisco 3750G-24T is a 24 port 10/100/1000Mbps switch.
If your connected device ( PC/Laptop) is having a Gig NIC card then the switch port will negotiate the speed and will establish for 1000Mbps link.

I am little curious about your word 1000bt . is it 1000bps i.e 1Mbps or you are looking for the connetcion of 1000Mbps i.e 1Gbps

Best Regards

Configuring a router is not like fixing something that can be taught in two simple lines instead it requires a lot of hard work and study but here is the catch it is very rewarding also. If you want to configure the router than you have to download the appropriate manual from the following website.
