Frigidaire Dishwashers - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Possible solution. I had the same problem of "washing" light flashing last year and now today. Warranty has been expired for awhile, so no harm in trying. What worked for my situation was removing the six screws for the back of the plastic control cover. Take of the plastic cover. There are are two connectors to the HANDLE with white and black wires. To be safe I would shut off the ciruit to the dishwasher. Safety first. Carefully disconnect and inspect the contacts inside the connectors. Do not insert any metal objects if you left the power on. I believe that the moisture from the dishwasher can degrade the connectivity. I cleaned the contacts with q-tips and re-installed. Be careful to not bend the contacts. If you had sound, you could hear my dishwasher running. Total cost is about three cents. I believe that the connectors do not full close when corroded, which prevents the completion of the circuit to the controlls. The flashing light indicates that the door is open, when in fact it is closed. Hopefully this will help someone. Semper Fi

Cannot be answered with the information provided.

Need the serial number from the manufacturer's plate, which will probably tell you the year of manufacture.

Sounds like you have a stuck relay (or shorted triac) on the main control board, which means you will have to replace the control board.

Jiggle the float in the dishwasher, turn dial or push button to cycle drain, or rince and off. Vitally

I had the same problem. I pressed the "Start Cancel" button, kept it down, then pressed "Rinse Only" button. The display then went clear. I pressed "Start Cancel" again, then "83" showed up on the display. I let it run its cycle, then it corrected itself. A little scary, but it worked. This answer board is great!

the problem you have is probably in the heat circuit. its trying to heat the water up and keeps running because the water does not get any hotter. you need to check the heater wires and a couple of sensors as well as the heater itself.

Check the bottom or bottom panel of the dishwasher for the schematic it is usually in a plastic sleeve.

So far so good. I fixed mine by removing the vent and even though it says no repairable parts I disassembled it then removed the rubber gasket and cleaned it with a brush under hot water. I then cleaned the plastic ring it seals against. Next I removed the spring and stretched it to make it about a quarter inch longer and then reinstalled the spring then the rubber gasket and then closed up the unit. So far it is working fine. I suspect the real problem is that there is a tiny sensor that needs to be covered when the vent is closed. If this is not covered the uo error code is generated.

Does this mean the dishwasher doesn’t work at all or just the display lights? Remember the switch on the wall turns the dishwasher on and off. That could be the only problem !!

CL is a generic clear code. Reset the unit at the household circuit breaker for about 10-15 minutes, and then retry. If the same code comes up then you have a communication error with your main control board, and will require a repair.

Hello Mileshjr,

I don't disagree... Nice looking unit...

What you have to do is assess the LEAK(s)...
and do a cost/benefit analysis...

If indeed the parts are available (they seem to be)

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/motor-pump-parts-for-frigidaire-fdb1050rec0.html

Then all you have to do is find the cause of the
LEAKS and repair them...

Mine turned to be rusted body panels...
(not much you can do there... Unless you
find a complete DONOR... Not unlike restoring cars...

(the labor of love)...

Check out other part houses...

... and don't forget to check eBay.

I will confess the new PRO Series "QUIET" models
are VERY quiet... and sooo... pretty I had to REMODEL
the ENTIRE KITCHEN... (no savings there).

Hope this saves $$$$
