HP ProCurve - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

the HP manuals cover this. ever heard of the long reset..
why not ask HP actual, not fixya, fixya is not HP. not in the least.
be faster, no?
and enterprise wired high speed switch it is. 1gb/s
the spec page with links is here a HPE.com

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c02507162

the page to read is here, easy but has over 700 documents to support there.
i guess you know this switch has many self programmable (config)
settings, so there are 2 levels of reset, the 2nd id factory defaults.
page 76 here and full reset, on. page 78 pdf.

read that
here
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5179341&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c02564134

the factory reset can be done 2 ways, via console
or on the unit directly. page 78 ,the 1,2,3 steps
page 4-12, actual , pdf 78

i read the manual for you.... after all thing made, reset uniquely.

HP 2626 do not have a default IP address, you have to set the IP address on an enterprise class business switch. You can find the manual for your switch at http://www.hp.com

There is no default password. If a password is set you either need to know it or have physical access to the switch

Have you tried to telnet into your device and turn up the logging? Also, have you confirmed at what duplex you are running on the ports that the actual connection is coming in on? Is there a firewall connected to your switches? If so, have you checked the NIC cards to make sure they are functioning appropiately? Check out your DMZ card to see if that is causing any issues.

I'm going to assume you can get in the command line interface. Go into the command mode (type "config t" with out the quotes ) then type "ip http server" press enter, type exit to get out of command mode and then "write memory" to save your configuration. Remember, vlan 1 on the switch MUST have a IP address for you to be able to access the web interface.

there is no default password on an HP switch. You can clear the password on a switch by powering on a switch and make sure it is done booting (you should see all the port light up for a short time in order down the switch when it is booted) then take a paper clip and press the clear button on the front of the switch. that will clear any password left on the switch

This button is used for these purposes:

Deleting Passwords - When pressed by itself for at least one second, the button deletes any switch console access passwords that you may have configured. Use this feature if you have misplaced the password and need console access.

If you do not know it, then you may have to return the switch to its facrory default configuration which is outlined in the switches manual.
