John Deere Garden - Popular Questions, Answers, Tips & Manuals
John deere 310D backhoe will not move in reverse. Reverser oil good, forward good, runs great just not in reverse.
The oil inside for the reverser is good? You found that the oil level was correct, the fluid was clean and no further actions were needed? Usually the failure is the clutch pack but that is seen in the fluid. Can you feel or notice that the shift lever is moving into the gear selection correctly? Do you notice, feel or hear that reverse gear is engaged when selected. Do you hear any noises or sounds that weren't there before the failure? Did this failure happen out of the blue or have you noticed reverse acting up for a while now? Please let me know. Good luck.

John deere la115 will would not stay running and now will not run at all . Already had changed fuel filter
My guess is water in fuel.
You can verify fuel issue by removing air filter and spray a short 1 second burst of starter fluid into carburetor and promptly crank engine. If it's a no fuel in carb issue it will fire and run a few seconds until starter fluid is expended.
Disconnect fuel line at carburetor and capture sample (cup or so) while cranking engine.
Put sample in a small clear glass container. Look for an obvious horizontal line... fuel floats on water. Any sign of water and youll need to drain the tank AND carburetor bowl.
Then get fresh fuel in a clean empty container... dont use what you might have.
Comment here and I'll assist further I'd not a fuel issue.
