From all accounts the AW's are Just Noisy. Fans can get out of adjustment, screws can loosen, etc. Other than opening it up and retightening everything you could just face a fact of life for those who decided to buy a compressor-based wine cooler.

Although they are not extremely loud, they will still tend to make some noise because of the mechanism inside.
  • But, if the cooler is not positioned correctly, especially if it is placed on the floor, the owner may notice it making more noise than it should. They should check to make sure the cooler's footing is secured perfectly as possible to reduce the noise.
  • If the cooler is properly placed, check the ventilation. Just like messing with the interior cooling, not having adequate ventilation can cause excessive noises because the cooler has to work harder to cool properly.
  • Make sure all four sides have adequate space, so the mechanism can work properly.
  • As with any problem, if none of these work, and the noise escalates, the owner should call for a servicer or enforce the warranty.

Ice on bottom is older ice. When icemaker goes thru defrost cycle, ice melts and gets smaller. New ice that drops on top is newer and bigger. Your only problem is not using enough ice.

On the flapper that is pushed down by the ice there is a small magnet. It is on the arm on the back right. It trips a magnetic switch. It has either slipped or fallen out completely.

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

Hi,
I am sorry to hear the trouble.
From what you are explaining sounds like the fan was the problem to begin with...The fan cools the compressor...If it is not working properly then the compressor over heats and will not start. You might hear clicking sound when you turn it ON. Unplug the fridge ...Let the compressor cool...Take any kind of household fan...Point it so it is blowing on the compressor..Plug the fridge back in...If the compressor runs OK with the fan blowing on it ..then replace the fan motor....If it does not work then your compressor is bad...Not worth fixing.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi,

The interior light source of the wine cooler consist of LED lighting which is long lasting and very energy efficient. LED lights will usually last for many years, even sometimes lasting longer than the product they have been installed in. If for any reason the LED lights stop burning and you have determined that they do not longer work, either you need to change the internal bulb ( which could be tricky, and you need to VERY careful ) or you need to contact the manufacturer for the same.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

What type device is the wine opener? Who makes it? There should be a manual for it.
