I found this
The 5 beeps indicates that the lid switch isn't being sensed*
The out of balance switch is separate to the lid switch on these machines. The 3 water level light does indicate the Out of balance switch as faulty, if it is accompanied by 15 beeps. 5 beeps means the lid switch = LD.
This is what I want you to do.
Open the lid up. Study the left and right hand sides of the lid while it is open. You should see a little bulge in the plastic on one side. From memory it is the left hand side when standing in front of the machine...
This is the magnet in the lid, when the lid is closed, it lines up with a sensor on the underside of the top hob of the machine.
If you stick your hand up underneath the top of the machine in this location, above the bowl, you should be able to feel the sensor and the wires going to it..
Sometimes these sensors fall out of where they clip to on the underside of the top of the machine. Feel around and see if it is hanging down okay...
If you cant find it, dig the plastic caps out from the top front of the machine where the lid closes against, undo the 2 screws, undo the screws across the back of the top of the machine and raise the entire top by gently* swinging the top up and back against the wall and then you will see what I am talking about.
Apart from falling out of where they clip into under the hob, the sensor can corrode away and fail. If yours looks corroded or bulging, it will need replacing..
This is where the problem is I'm thinking, especially if you have already replaced the out of balance switch and of course, the 5 beeps.
Try the above suggested and let me know how you go okay,,,
Any further questions, even after rating, just ask, I'm happy to answer them.
